Formed in 2001 and based in Southampton, Rat:Daddy are an energetic and exciting pop rock band whose hooky songs and full on stadiumesque performances bring a new dimension to the term ‘Exciting Live Act’.
In 2003, the band’s debut ep ‘We Should be going Crazy’ quickly sold out of it’s first 1000 pressings. It was also picked up by an independent label in Newcastle called Changes One, who went on to help the band produce and distribute a split album across the UK. This enabled Rat:Daddy to carry out several tours nationwide with a fantastic response. Later the band would also tour Europe and are currently organising a trip back to follow up on it’s success.
As a support act, Rat:Daddy have hugely impressed several of the larger acts they have played with including The Wildhearts, Dogs D’Amour, Rachel Stamp, The Quireboys, AntiProduct, Tuuli & Hardcore Superstar. Ginger from the Wildhearts was so impressed when they opened for his band at Bristol Academy, that he personally asked the guys to support him on one of his solo acoustic tours.
Rat:Daddy are currently making some exciting changes to the band line up and have recorded 3 brand new demos, available at shows and on line.
